SANLAKAS Lanao del Norte and Iligan Chapter Assembly

SANLAKAS third nominee, Dir. Roldan Gonzales, hopes that Lanao del Norte Chapter could already send its representative to the next SANLAKAS Congress which is after the 2016 election. In the future, if there would be enough funds, the chapter could conduct a general assembly. He also congratulated the participants for being the founding members of SANLAKAS Lanao del Norte and Iligan City.

After the message, an Orientation about SANLAKAS was also given by Dir. Gonzales. He mentioned the objectives and visions of SANLAKAS to have a “Hayahay na Buhay” where the people have sustainable way of living, decent and affordable houses and a peaceful, safe and healthy environment. SANLAKAS also aims to have a balanced development of agriculture and industry, fair allocation of resources and environment-friendly and sustainable ways of production, market and trade, and services.

One participant cited a project of SANLAKAS in Brgy. Manga, Kolambugan when it got seats in Congress as an example that the organization is true in its principles.

Education on important local to national issues is part of the purpose of SANLAKAS to increase the participation and voices of the people especially the marginalized sectors. SANLAKAS expands its membership for a long term partnership and deep commitment to real changes and development of the country.

SANLAKAS nominee, Mr. Roldan R. Gonzales together with committed leaders have been establishing chapters around Mindanao area and reviving and strengthening its old members.

First stop was his visit to Vincenzo Sagun, Zamboanga Sibugay where he had a short but meaningful talk with the farmer leaders who committed in establishing their own chapter for the next few months.

At Margosatubig, SANLAKAS Mindanao group conversed with the Port Workers who were also very eager to participate in the organizing process. Initial planning was done and further meetings will follow.
